I was at the Piscine La Plaine only because on that day most of the other Pools in Paris were on Strike. And by the looks of it "la Plaine" shouldn´t have opend it´s doors that day either.
The Pool was packed full of people due to the Strike and I recon most of the Negatives that I am about to bring up are due to this fact - but it was a awful experience no less.
The main Problem was simply the dirtyness. Especially the showers and the changing cubicles were simply filfthy. And unlike any other Pool in Paris that I´ve been in so far, I´ve not seen anyone with a mop going around. The pool felt very much understaffed that day.
It´s also not in good shape. The ceiling has seen better days (to say this nicely), as do the installations in the shower. The changing cubicles are small and very dark.
Did I mention that the pool was overrun? I haven´t counted, but swimming sure wasn´t easy that day. Not when you´re sharing the small 25x12,5 Meter pool with way too many people.
Upsides? On a sunny day the big window (I think in southern direction) is nice. They´ve also put up some plants there. But on balance, I´d welcome it a lot more if they would just keep the place clean and fix it up.
